Our Story

The Southern California Conservancy is a San Diego-based 501(c)(3) committed to protecting the precious watershed ecosystems of San Diego and Southern Riverside counties. SCC takes a unique approach to conservation, bolstering the resilience of the region's watersheds through in-situ rehabilitation efforts on nearby private land. We take a partnership-driven approach, catalyzing the existing efforts of Indigenous stewards and public conservation authorities through deep collaboration. With an initial focus on three endemic species — the Southern California steelhead, Western pond turtle, and California red-legged frog — we aim to ensure the survival of Southern California's resplendent biodiversity for present and future generations.
